An in-kind donation is a contribution of items and/or services in lieu of cash. Examples of in-kind donations the American Red Cross Jersey Coast Chapter will consider include:
- Services from companies, such as printing, shipping, banners, graphic and video design
- Services from professionals, such as trainers, consultants, designers
- "Bulk Donations" that are palletized - large donations of a single product, such as water, blankets, diapersm tarps, and paper products
- Donated goods, such as cell phones, office supplies, meeting and event facilities
When thinking about donating goods or services to the Jersey Coast Chapter please contact us at (732) 493-9100 or send us an e-mail so that we can determine if we have a need for the product or service, and/or the means to accept your donation.
Collection of Goods and Individual Items
The Jersey Coast Chapter is unable to accept:
- Items with a short shelf life or expiration date
- Hygiene items
- Furniture, toys
- Canned goods
- Items which are defective or not in working order
We also do not accept donations of food or clothing for people affected by disasters because of the logistical difficulties of storing and delivering these items, and because the opportunity for a person affected by a disaster to shop for new clothes is helpful in the recovery process.
