The leaves in Spearfish Canyon were preparing for their autumn transformation, many of the summers tourists had returned home, and the college students were beginning to migrate back to the area in anticipation of the impending semester. Jean Gliedt-Peters summer included all of this: the leaves, the tourists, the impending school year; but many things were distinctly different in August of 1993.

This past weekend, the Clark Family joined race fans at the Sharon Speedway Race in Hartford, Ohio. The Clarks are a typical NASCAR family.

Carmen and Hector Munoz arrived in the United States shortly after Hurricane Charley, a Category 4 storm, struck southwestern Florida in 2004. The husband and wife had just moved from Puerto Rico to Florida and they quickly experienced the devastating and damaging effects a hurricane can have on a community.
