Reverend Willie Thorpe of Freehold Borough- Community Hero

Reverend Willie Thorpe serves as the creative force behind the very successful Compassion Ministries; a community based non-profit dedicated to spiritually uplifting those in need from all walks of life. As our very deserving community hero, Reverend Thorpe encompasses what it means to be a true humanitarian within the community. He is a man of character, action and integrity who graciously cares about others around him.

As an active volunteer Reverend Thorpe visits the sick, preaches his message of God’s love to prison inmates, takes pride in the music ministry as well as numerous community outreach projects. Reverend Thorpe threw a birthday party for a little girl from a non-English speaking family, because they could not afford it, at a facility in Freehold out of the goodness of his heart.

A current employee of the CentraState Medical Center, Reverend Thorpe has been a dark room technician and at the hospitality information desk. The things the Reverend does change people’s lives and impacts them greatly. Constantly giving of himself for the betterment of others, Reverend Thorpe is a shining light upon the world and we thank him for his contribution to society.
