Officer Robert Melendez of Howell - Guardian Angel Hero

Officer Melendez has managed to create a lasting change in the lives of children through his unyielding community relations. An officer of the Sea Girt Police Department, Robert Melendez has positively influenced elementary and high school students for years as a “Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)” Officer. Through this program he delivers crucial information to students on how to be drug and alcohol free.

In 2004, he established Project PACKMAN (Police and Community Kids Music Against Narcotics), open to 7th graders through high school seniors; providing them a wholesome and creative spot for youth to attend on Friday nights. The group practices and plays music together for many community charities; expanding the children’s musical capacities and ability to give back to their own community through music.

Officer Robert Melendez, the community thanks you for being an excellent role model to children, and providing them with your guidance and friendship.
