Mary Spano Gleckner of Howell - International Hero

Assisting people in need on an international level is the devoted Mary Spano Gleckner of the Spano Family Charitable Foundation. This foundation was set up by the Spano family in order to remind people to use their time, talent and treasure in ways that give others a hand up rather than a handout.

Committed to public service, Mary works specifically with the Bridge Community Church in Swaziland, Africa. She has traveled to Madudula, a rural area of Swaziland and works together with missionaries to help their declining population where the average life expectancy is only 33.2 years of age and has one of the highest rates of HIV infection.

Mary Spano Gleckner has brought hope to the community because of her support, concern and willingness to increase awareness about the hardships going on around the world. During her missions there she is greatly involved with the youth program and leading the children in activities.

Along with this, Mary also ties herself in with Red Cross international programs such as Services to Armed Forces, our Measles Initiative, as well as Jersey Coast volunteer projects.

Thank you Mary, for extending your international outreach into our own backyard.
